I fully support the Party’s manifesto plans to improve our schools system, make opportunity more equal and address our declining social mobility.
David Cameron has launched the education section of the 'Mending our Broken Society' chapter of the Conservative Party’s draft manifesto.
It includes proposal to:
- Improve the quality of teachers and introduce tougher discipline
- Have a rigorous curriculum and exam system
- Give every parent access to a good school
Too often I know that we’ve made our teachers lives more difficult, undermining their judgement, curbing their freedom, telling them what to do and how to do it. We give them little protection or support and I know many of them are demoralised and under-valued.
We also don’t reach out to the very best talent to get the best possible teachers into our classrooms to teach our children. If we want to give our children the best – it’s time we made our teaching the best. Our plan would help make that happen.
I would encourage everyone to have their say on the Conservatives education plans. You can ask a question at www.conservatives.com/draftmanifesto |
